As a Frieze Week Partner, Moncler’s London leg of The Extraordinary Expedition had a strong artistic leaning. Held in the Brutalist 180 The Strand, the core gallery spaces were transformed to showcase the multifaceted, collaborative vision of Moncler as part of the 70th anniversary creative program.

Renowned photographer and documentarian Platon was present to unveil the Moncler Maya 70 Collaborations campaign, featuring 7 unique interpretations of the Maya jacket by 7 designers connected to the brand. Presented on large-scale digital screens, the artwork also included a further 7 portraits of extraordinary creatives connected to the city of London.
The exhibition was further enlivened by a series of talks, with Platon himself kicking off the talks on opening night. The next night welcomed James Barnor, the London-based, Ghanaian photographer whose incredible career spans six decades, two continents, and a variety of genres, including studio portraiture, photojournalism, Black lifestyle, and social commentary. Veronica Ryan was the third speaker, a Montserrat-born British sculptor who has drawn from themes of dislocation, belonging and history throughout her career.
The Extraordinary Expedition London ran from 12th - 16th October, 2022.
